My Chemical Romance has reached a major career milestone, earning its first No. 1 album in the United States with The Black Parade, two decades after its original release.
The band’s 2006 album climbed from No. 139 to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart dated November 7, 2026, following the release of its 20th anniversary deluxe edition.
The album earned 78,000 equivalent album units during the tracking week ending October 29, including 68,000 in traditional album sales. Vinyl purchases accounted for 42,000 copies, marking the band’s biggest sales week on the format.
Originally released in October 2006, The Black Parade debuted at No. 2, behind the Hannah Montana soundtrack. The album features some of the group’s best-known songs, including Welcome to the Black Parade, Famous Last Words, and Teenagers.
The anniversary edition includes six bonus tracks and was released in multiple physical formats.
The achievement also establishes a new chart record for the longest period between an album’s original release and its first appearance at No. 1.
