Rocky Mountain Vibes and Southwest Airlines® to Host Inaugural Community Heroes All-Star Game

Colorado Springs, Colorado, March 18, 2021 — The Rocky Mountain Vibes and Southwest Airlines® are set to

host the Inaugural Community Heroes All-Star Game at UCHealth Park on May 8th during the Vibes’ fan fest event.

The Vibes and Southwest are using the event to say “thank you” to all of Colorado Springs’ teachers and healthcare workers for all their hard work and dedication during the pandemic. To showcase the real All-Stars of 2020, the Vibes and Southwest are encouraging the Colorado Springs community to nominate their most impactful community heroes. Winners will then get an opportunity to participate in a friendly softball game at UCHealth Park on May 8th in an Educators vs. Health Care Pros matchup, presented by Southwest Airlines.

Nominations can be submitted through April 8th by visiting the link of the Vibes’ website and or on the Vibes’ social media channels.

“There are so many people in our community that have helped us through this difficult time, so we wanted to find a way to give back and say ‘thank you’ to them. The Community Heroes All-Star Game is a great way for the Vibes to give back and recognize their efforts. The Vibes and UCHealth Park are honored to partner with Southwest Airlines to provide this event for the true heroes in our community. We’re thrilled to have Southwest Airlines in Colorado Springs and have them on board as the sponsor for this exciting and meaningful event.”

– Chris Phillips, Rocky Mountain Vibes President & General Manager

“At Southwest, we believe strong communities are at the Heart of what brings us together, especially during times of need. We’re hopeful this partnership will bring a chance for Health Care workers and Educators to relax for an afternoon and evening while we celebrate everything they’ve accomplished for our communities during the pandemic. As a new member of the Colorado Springs Community, we couldn’t be prouder to support this effort and cheer on our everyday heroes.

The Rocky Mountain Vibes played their inaugural season in 2019 after spending 30 years as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. While the 2020 season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vibes were still able to offer fans safe and affordable opportunities to experience the ballpark. Now joining the MLB Partnership Pioneer League, the Vibes will look to the 2021 season as a stepping-stone for continued success for years to come.
