Make Your Vote COUNT 2020!

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Colorado mails a ballot to every registered voter a fewweeks before the election. Keep an eye on the mailbox, and be sure to mail it back or drop it in a drop-box before Election Day! You can also vote in person if you prefer to do so. Colorado offers early voting.

Vote early

Colorado voters can also vote before Election Day. The early voting period runs from Monday, October 19, 2020 to Monday, November 2, 2020, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live.

What to bring

  • If you choose to vote in person in Colorado, you will need to show ID. If your form of identification shows your address, that address must be in the state of Colorado.
  • Acceptable forms include: Colorado driver’s license; valid ID card issued by the Department of Revenue; US passport; employee ID with photo issued by any entity of the US government or Colorado; pilot’s license issued by the FAA or other authorized agency of the US; US military ID with photo; ID card issued by a federally recognized tribal government; Medicare or Medicaid card; certified copy of your US birth certificate; certificate of Degree of Indian or Alaskan Native Blood; certified documentation of naturalization; student ID with photo issued by a Colorado institute of higher education; veteran’s ID with photo issued by the VA; or a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document showing name and address (within last 60 days).
  • Voters without ID: If you are unable to provide ID, you will be able to vote a provisional ballot, or you may request a mail ballot to take home, sign, and return to your county clerk. Your signature is used to verify your identity on a mail ballot
Who can vote

To register in Colorado you must:

  • be a citizen of the United States
  • be a resident of Colorado for at least 22 days immediately before the Election in which you intend to vote
  • be at least 16 years old, but you must be at least 17 and turning 18 on or before the date of the next general election to be eligible to vote in a primary election, and at least 18 to be eligible to vote in any other election
  • not be serving a sentence of detention or confinement for a felony conviction

Vote by mail
Colorado conducts elections by mail. If you are registered to vote before Monday, October 26, 2020, you should expect to receive a ballot at your designated mailing address. You can return your ballot by mail, or find a drop box on Colorado’s site.
